The original form of the existing home presents itself as a series of long horizontal volumes emanating from a traditional footprint. The reinterpretation of these spaces takes cues from a series of additions over the years to express the layering as shallow planes. Overlaid in a rich materiality, the subtle stepping translates into gently expressive spaces within which opportunities arise to showcase the family’s creative endeavors and frame various zones of living.
